All-New Maruti Swift’s RoadStar Edition In A Walkaround Video

Along with the regular Swift, Maruti Suzuki has also introduced a special version of the hatchback called Swift Racing RoadStar. Today, we will cover this special edition in a walkaround video uploaded by The Car Show on YouTube.
The video starts with the exterior look of the Racing RoadStar Edition which is available in the ZXI+ variant only. The most significant change in the exterior is its unique paint colour. The Racing RoadStar edition is finished in a copper-like shade. This unique colour is complimented by the red inserts which give the hatchback a sporty appeal. Gloss black sporty elements have been added to the bumper.
The Racing RoadStar edition features a stripe in the centre which extends till the roof. The side profile features the same 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The side cladding is finished in gloss black along with red inserts. The ORVMs are also finished in gloss black with racing-inspired decals.
Similar to the front, sporty elements have been added to the rear bumper. The Swift Racing RoadStar edition offers a glossy black with red inserts spoiler at the back, complimenting the overall theme. A glossy black strip connects both the taillights which is also a part of this package.
Following the same theme as the exterior, the interior of this special edition is all-black with red inserts. In contrast, the regular Swift 2024 features a grey with black cabin. However, the roof of the car is still finished in beige. The leather-wrapped steering wheel features glossy black inserts replacing the white inserts in the regular Swift. The doors and the dashboard come with carbon fiber-inspired inserts with red elements, adding to the sportiness.
This particular variant is priced at Rs. 9.64 lakhs ex-showroom which is Rs. 14,000 more than the regular ZXi+ AMT. Powering the 2024 Swift is a completely new block that replaces the old 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine. This new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine manages to deliver a power output of 80 BHP and torque of 112 Nm. The transmission options are the same as the old Swift.
Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic manual transmission (AMT). When we compare the old engine with the new unit, it can be observed that the power figures have dropped by 9 BHP. However, the torque figures are nearly the same.
The major highlight of this new block is its fuel efficiency. With the 2024 Swift, Maruti Suzuki claims mileage figures of 24.8 km/L for the manual and 25.87 km/L for the automatic version. In contrast, the 2023 Swift had a claimed mileage figure of 22.38 km/L.
The Racing RoadStar edition comes with no performance upgrades. Safety has seen a major upgrade with the 2024 Swift. The hatchback now comes with six airbags as standard. As consumers are getting more inclined towards safer cars, brands have to improve their offerings. We can also expect better crash test ratings in the Bharat NCAP with the new Swift.
