Maruti Swift reimagined as a rear-engined hot hatch

Maruti Suzuki Swift is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the country. It is probably one of those cars that actually popularised modifications in India. It still a car that is loved by both young and family buyers. Over the years, Maruti made changes to the hatchback to keep it fresh and it still holds a special place is every car guys heart. We have seen several extremely modified Swifts across the country. Here we have a render video that shows how Maruti Suzuki Swift might have looked like if it was a rear-engined hot hatch.

The video has been uploaded by Zephyr Designz on their YouTube channel. The artist has done an extremely good job with the render. In this render video, he has reimagined Swift completely into a rear-engine low rider hot hatch. Several changes have been made to the car to give it the desired look.

Starting at the front, all the chrome on the car has been removed or blacked out. The hatchback comes with a smoked headlamps with projector type lights, LED DRLs and turn indicators in it. The bumper has been redesigned as it now comes with a splitter.

Coming to the side profile, the fenders have been redesigned too. They are now wider than the stock version and this has been done to accommodate the wider blacked out alloy wheels and low profile tyres. Artist has also added disc brakes on all four wheels.

The whole car has been lowered and the wheels have a slightly negative camber. As we move to the rear, the changes are more evident. The rear bumper has been completely removed or chopped off. The exhaust pipes and the engine is partially visible from the rear. Maruti Swift is a front engine hatchback. The artist completely changed the nature of the car and made it into a rear wheel drive hot hatchback.

A huge spoiler is also mounted on the roof of the Swift. A roof box is also seen in the render video. Overall, the artist has done a commendable job with the render. Maruti does not have a rear wheel drive car in the market but, if it were introduce a rear wheel drive Swift, that would have made this small hatchback a legendary car. The artist does not mention anything about the engine of the rear-engine Swift but, we assume that, it is going to be a lot more powerful than the one we have in the market currently. He did mention that this Swift Concept comes with twin turbochargers.

Maruti Swift is a popular hatchback. It recently got an minor facelift earlier this year. Maruti Suzuki Swift is a hatchback that is fun to drive and returns good fuel economy as well. It is available with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates 88 Bhp and 113 Nm of peak torque. Maruti does not offer a diesel engine with Swift currently. The petrol version of Swift is available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox option.
