DC Designs is a well known design firm in India and abroad. Owned by Dilip Chhabria, the company has produced many famous cars like the Tarzan movie car, the DC Avanti sportscar and the TCA concept shown at Auto Expo 2018. Though DC is also credited with creating some hideous looking vehicles, but that was limited to exteriors only.
However, there’s no doubt about the fact that they have done some of the best interiors job we’ve seen. Called the DC lounge, these super revamped interiors can give a 5-star jet liner a run for its money. So here, we take a look at ten of the best car interior modifications by DC Design.
Toyota Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner has been one of the best selling SUV of India since a long time now. The SUV was an instant hit ever since it was launched and has been going strong since then. Now DC has completly revamped the interiors of the current generation Fortuner, especially the rear side of the car. The lounge-like interiors offer loads of luxury options for passengers like leather upholstery, reclining rear seats, a massive TV mounted on a partition separating passengers at the back from the driver and a premium entertainment setup. There even a mini bar and ambient lighting to set the party rolling.
Toyota Innova Crysta
The Toyota Innova was among the first projects of DC Lounge. Currently done on an Innova Crysta, the interiors are a whole new story now as evident from the pictures. The interiors now get a wooden trim, white leather upholstery, reclining seats, and a chiller. The large TV is mounted on the partition separating the driver from the passengers at the rear. The large reclining seats offer acres of legroom and even come with massage function.
Tata Aria
The Tata Aria was the first vehicle of its type by the company. Though it didn’t turn out to do very well in terms of sale, DC has given the interiors a complete overhaul here. The DC Aria interior sports white leather upholstery, dark faux-wood trim, massive recliners, a large TV and what appears to be a chiller. The whole setup is very tastefully done and can give any luxury car a run for its money.
Mahindra XUV500
Again a top seller in its segment, the Mahindra XUV500 also got the the DC treatment from the company. As is the practice, the second and third row of seats have been replaced by massive recliners. There’s space for only two in the back now but with supreme luxury on offer. Both the front seats feature large displays at their backs, and the entire SUV is done up in tan leather upholstery. The DC XUV500 also gets faux-wood trim panels and ambient lighting among others.
Hindustan Ambassador
DC had modified the Ambassador a long time back and it looked good compared to some other designs they have done. However, here they have souped up the interiors quite a bit and the back seat of the Amby now is no less than a throne. Ambassador already had one of the best rear bench in the segment but now things are on a different level. The modified Amby interior gets a new reclined rear bench with leather upholstery, massive amounts of faux-wood trim, a driver partition, two displays, tray tables and four rear AC vents.
Renault Duster
The Renault Duster is a good compact SUV with plain but nice interiors. The one pictured above is everything but plain. The customised Duster cabin features a white, black and tan interior theme and has much going on inside than what meets the eye. The seats are wrapped in white leather and the ones at the rear are recliners. The backs of the front seats also play host to a display each and the Duster gets faux-wood inserts as well.
Nissan Sunny
The Nissan Sunny is among the more spacious car in its segment and this is among one of its USPs. DC has utilised that for full and fitted the sedan with reclining seats at the rear, along with a chiller. The Sunny gets a red and black interior theme with the seats wrapped in red leather and a host of faux wood trim. Cool is a low word for what you see in the picture.
Ford EcoSport
The previous version of the EcoSport had less flair in terms of interiors as the current model. That has been chinked out by DC which has given its interiors a major overhaul. It now comes with an upmarket look complete with a beige and black design theme. The other major attraction is the large circular AC vent for the rear passengers.
Maruti Swift
Hyundai Elantra
This one here is the previous generation Hyundai Elantra and the car had pretty good interiors in stock form too. However, what it offers now is totally different and eye pleasing. DC Design has worked their magic into the car as can be seen above. The red-and-black theme make the Elantra’s interiors look a lot sportier than before.
