Maruti Suzuki launched a new variant of its sedan SX4 recently. The SX4 Royale, as it is called, would be available in two versions: Vxi and the Zxi.
The basic SX4 Vxi Royale would feature body color moldings on the door, silver finish door handle, ABS and EBD, front two airbags, fog lamps, alloy wheels, steering mounted audio controls and also a climate control as standard fitment.
The top-end SX4 Zxi Royale features all the goodies on the VXi and a some additional ones such as a leather-wrapped steering and gear shifter, leather seats as standard fitment along with reverse park sensors, rear spoilers, neck support pillows, Bluetooth connectivity, sporty door sill, transparent floor mats and reading lights.
There are no technical changes on the Suzuki SX4 – the specifications remain the same. It is still is driven by a 1.6 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. SX4 sales have been lagging for a while, and it might be one of the major reasons for getting this special edition out.
The sales of this mid-size sedan from Maruti Suzuki have not taken off as expected and such special editions could help it get a much-needed boost. The other reason could be the launch of the new models such as the Volkswagen Vento and new Hyundai Verna Transform that have now taken over the segment along with the segment leader Honda City.
The Maruti SX4 Royale is available in seven shades with two new shades exclusively for the Royale namely Oyster Blue and French Eclair.
We await an official press release from Maruti Suzuki on these new versions of the SX4.
The SX4 is available in an automatic variant and a CNG version that made its entry recently.
