Maruti Vitara Brezza: New web ads released [Video]

Maruti Suzuki has just released a new web ad series for India’s best selling SUV – the sub-4 meter Vitara Brezza. The first ad shows an actress arriving in a Maruti Brezza to a group of waiting photographers. What happens next is what puts the arc lights on the Maruti Brezza. The Maruti Vitara Brezza sells over 10,000 units each month in India, making it the country’s best selling SUV. Main competition for the Brezza comes from the likes of the Tata Nexon and the Ford EcoSport. However, both these SUVs put together sell less than the Brezza despite having many more variants and engine options on offer. Such is the utter dominance of the Maruti Brezza.

Prices of the SUV starts from Rs. 7.42 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, and it’s available only in diesel trim. The diesel engine that powers the Maruti Brezza is a 1.3 liter Fiat Multijet unit, which is seen on multiple cars sold by Maruti. On the Brezza, this tried and tested motor makes 89 Bhp-200 Nm, and is offered with two gearbox options – a 5 speed manual and a 5 speed AMT.

The Brezza is a front wheel driven SUV and offers twin airbags and ABS as standard safety features. Recently, Global NCAP crash tested the vehicle and awarded it a 4 star rating, and also pronounced that the body structure was stable and capable of withstanding further loading. This indicates that the Maruti Brezza is a structurally sound car, capable of protecting its passengers in the event of a crash.

Maruti Suzuki is said to be mulling a petrol engine for the car considering the overall shift in preference towards petrol cars in the budget segments of the market. Tightening emission norms is another reason why the Brezza will soon have a petrol engine. Expect to see either the 1 liter-3 cylinder turbocharged petrol (101 Bhp-150 Nm) from the Baleno or the 1.5 liter petrol mild hybrid (104 Bhp-138 Nm) from the new Ciaz to be offered on the Maruti Brezza.
