The Japanese automotive giant Maruti Suzuki is intensifying its efforts towards sustainable mobility in Europe and across the world. In line with the ambitious electrification process, the company is actively working on the development of its highly anticipated electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki eVX. Recently, spy photographers managed to capture detailed images of the eVX during its rigorous road testing session in Europe, shedding light on the exciting features of this upcoming electric vehicle.
In a bid to ensure optimal performance, Maruti Suzuki has strategically chosen southern Europe as the location for conducting crucial summer tests on this forthcoming EV model. The region’s high temperatures and challenging terrains provide an ideal setting to push the limits of vehicles in their development phase. This is particularly important for a 100% electric car like the eVX, as extreme temperatures can significantly impact battery performance and overall range.
Despite the heavily camouflaged exterior of the test unit, key design elements of the Maruti Suzuki eVX can be inferred. The eVX, previously previewed as the Suzuki eVX Concept, is expected to be a compact SUV, providing an electric alternative to the popular Suzuki S-Cross model. Both vehicles will share similar dimensions, catering to the needs of customers seeking eco-friendly transportation without compromising on practicality.

While no glimpse of the interior has been captured yet, industry experts anticipate a digital and connected cabin in the Maruti Suzuki eVX. Two large horizontal screens are expected to dominate the dashboard, with one serving as an advanced instrument cluster and the other primarily managing the infotainment system. These cutting-edge features will enhance the overall driving experience and align with the latest technological trends in the automotive industry.
Details regarding the specific configuration of the electric propulsion system are yet to be confirmed. However, the earlier showcased Suzuki eVX Concept boasted a robust 60 kWh lithium-ion battery, enabling a remarkable range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge according to the Indian MIDC cycle. This showcases the eVX’s potential to deliver an efficient and eco-friendly driving experience, free from the limitations of traditional combustion engines.
Enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the Maruti Suzuki eVX will be delighted to know that its official launch in the European market is scheduled for the upcoming year. However, Indian consumers will have to exercise a bit more patience, as the eVX is anticipated to arrive in Indian dealerships by 2025. The Maruti Suzuki eVX, also known as the “Emotional Versatile Cruiser,” made its grand debut at Auto Expo 2023, leaving enthusiasts in awe of its innovative and futuristic design.
Maruti Suzuki eVX concept
The Maruti eVX concept was shown by the carmaker at the 2022 Auto Expo. Obviously the production version does not look as dramatic as the concept – this is pretty normal for Maruti Suzuki, wich unlike Tata Motors does not stick close to the concept version. Nevertheless, we can hope that things change – as there is quite some time to go before we get to see the actual production version of the eVX.
