Rain is one of the natural forces that does not require an invitation and can fall at any time. The only action that humans can take is to manage the water that comes from the skies. The management of rainwater is primarily the responsibility of governments as they have the ability to create good drainage infrastructure for the cities they oversee. However, if they fail to take care of this essential task, the consequences can be catastrophic. In recent incidents of destruction caused by rains, a video has surfaced online showing cars being swept away in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana. The viral video of the Hyderabad floods depicts several cars being swept away on flooded roads.

While it may be challenging to save cars from unexpected flooding, some measures can be taken to protect them if there is a window of time before the floods arrive. Here are some tips to safeguard your car from floods:
- Park in a safe location: Whenever possible, park your car in a safe, elevated location that is away from flood-prone areas. If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, consider using a garage or a covered parking area to protect your car.
- Use sandbags: If you live in an area that is prone to flooding, consider using sandbags to create a barrier around your car to help prevent floodwater from reaching it.
- Elevate the car: If you are unable to move your car to a safe location, consider elevating it on blocks or ramps to keep it out of standing water.
- Check your insurance policy: Make sure that your insurance policy covers flood damage and that you have adequate coverage to protect your car in the event of a flood.
By taking these steps, you can help protect your car from floods and minimize the risk of costly damage.
