Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all new CLS 350 BE (Blue Efficiency) priced at Rs. 67.67 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Looks
The design of the CLS 350 BE is all-new and striking. It has not just one but two pairs of powerful LED lights, one for the headlamps and the other for the fog lamps. The heavily contoured wheel arches and wide LED tail lights give the car, a muscular and sporty stance.

Mercedes-Benz boasts that the CLS is the first passenger car to come with the LED High Performance headlamps which combines LED technology (71 LED lamps in total) with high-beam assist, and bi-xenon technology.
As expected from any Mercedes, the interior is plush and spacious. The gear shift paddles and multi-function steering wheel are fused seamlessly. The ambient lights have different illumination levels and you can choose from neutral, solar and polar illumination.
Engines
The New CLS 350 is powered by 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine producing 306 hp of power at 6500 rpm and 370 Nm of torque at 3500 – 5250 rpm. The engine is mated to a seven speed automatic transmission (7 G-tronic).
The CLS 350 accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds and can achieve a top speed of 250 kmph. The mileage of the CLS 350 is 14.28 kmpl.
Features
The new CLS 350 comes with a standard command APS with 17.8 inch (diagonal) screen, Harman Kardon Logic 7 surround sound system media interface, attention assist and airmatic suspension with ride height control.
The CLS 350 also gets an electromechanical direct-steer system, active parking assist with an integrated parktronic system. It also gets audio and visual warnings via ultrasonic sensors in the front and rear bumpers.
Competition – Audi A7
The Mercedes CLS 350 EB essentially competes with the Audi A7 Sportback 3.0 TFSI. In terms of price, the CLS is about Rs. 3.67 lakh dearer than the A7. The A7 3.0 TFSI petrol is powered by a 2,995 cc V6 engine that churns out 310 hp of maximum power and 440 Nm of maximum torque.
The A7’s V6 petrol engine is capable of hitting the 100 km/hr mark in just 6.3 seconds and can push the Sportback to a top speed of 250 km/hr. The CLS is just 0.2 (6.1 seconds for 0-100 kmph) seconds faster in terms of acceleration when compared with the A7.
