Mercedes-Benz India has introduced two more products in their Indian line-up. The two new performance cars come in the form of AMG GLA 45 and AMG CLA 45 that carry a price tag of Rs. 77.85 lakh and 75.20 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Both the new models also get Aero editions that are priced at Rs. Rs. 77.69 lakh (CLA 45) and Rs. 80.67 lakh (GLA 45). With the introduction of the new models, the total number of AMG offerings in India is now 12.
The updated CLA 45 AMG gets a restyled front apron with A-wing design and louvres in the outer air intakes and a new front splitter to feed more air to the turbocharged engine. The CLA 45 AMG is powered by a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces a maximum of 375 Bhp and 475 Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful 2.0-litre production engine in the world. The car can do a 0-100 km/h run in just 4.2 seconds.
With the Aero package, the CLA 45 gets an updated black and yellow paint scheme with better aerodynamics. The new aerodynamics are said to improve the driveability of the vehicle.The car can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.
The GLA 45 AMG also gets an updated front end with three air-intakes. The GLA 45 AMG also gets the signature twin-blade radiator grille. It is also powered by the same 2.0-litre engine that puts out 375 Bhp – 475 Nm and it takes 4.4 seconds to reach the ton from a standstill. It is also electronically limited to 250 km/h. The GLA 45 AMG also gets an optional extra matte grey paint scheme that is known as “designo MANGO”.
