Mercedes-Benz launches GLC celebration edition in India

To mark the 70th Independence anniversary of India, Mercedes-Benz has launched a new special edition of GLC. Called as Celebration Edition, the GLC will be available in the limited numbers in the market. The Celebration Edition of GLC220d has been priced at Rs. 50.86 lakh, while the GLC 300 is priced at Rs. 51.25 lakh, ex-showroom, India.

With the new launch, Mercedes-Benz has added yet another colour called ‘Designo Hyacinth Red’ to the portfolio. The special edition GLC comes with LED logo projectors; sports finish pedal, Garmin map pilot SD card, high-sheen chromed trim and rear trim strip that makes the vehicle look much more premium.

The GLC was launched last year in India and gets both petrol and diesel engine options. The 220d variant of the vehicle is powered by 2143 cc diesel engine that generates a maximum of 170 Bhp and 400 Nm. The GLC 300 gets 1,991 cc petrol engine that develops a maximum of 245 Bhp – 370 Nm. Both the engines get 9-speed automatic transmission with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The SUV competes against the likes of BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in India.
