Mercedes Benz launches special edition of A & B Class

To celebrate the new year, Mercedes has introduced one special edition variant of both their small hatchbacks, the A and the B Class. Christened the ‘Night Edition’, they have been desinged for ‘go getters’, who want to arrive in style everywhere they go, according to what Mercedes Benz has to say. They will be limited to a 100 units each.

A Class:

Mercedes Benz launches special edition of A & B ClassThe A Class has always been the sporty looking small hatchback and has been adequately successful. To enhance the exteriors, subtle changes have been done, like black finish on the exterior mirrors, diamond grill, the 17″ rims, and gloss trim on the front and rear bumper. The car also gets a Night Edition badge on the rear tailgate.

On the inside, the special edition comes with the stand alone 8″ media screen that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The normal A and B Class have the screen, however they lack the multimedia compatibility (Android auto and Apple Carplay). A 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel is on offer and the seats are finished in a combination of ARTICO leather and fabric.

Prices : A180 : Rs 27.31 lakhs, A200d: Rs 28.32 lakhs

B Class:

The B Class has been the more practical choice. It is roomy, spacious and very comfortable. The only downside of the B Class is the way it looks. This special edition adds the black accents on exterior elements, like on the A Class and also get the same infotainment system like on the A Class.

Prices: B180: Rs 29.34 lakhs, B200d: Rs 30.35 lakhs

Both the A and the B Class come with one petrol and one diesel engine option. While the petrol option is a 1.6 liter unit making 121 Bhp and 200 Nm. the diesel is a 2.1 liter unit which makes 134 Bhp and 300 Nm. Both the engines are mated to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DCT).
