Mercedes launches hot E400 Cabriolet and CLS 250 coupe

Mercedes Benz India has launched two hot-looking new cars in India today. The first is the topless Mercedes E400 Cabriolet priced at Rs. 78.50 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and the second is the Mercedes CLS 250 CDI, a sports coupe, priced at Rs. 76.50 lakh. This is Mercedes Benz’s fifth launch this calendar year, and the third in March.

Mercedes Benz E400 Cabriolet

The Mercedes Benz E Cabriolet is designed for those who love open-top motoring. It takes all the virtues of the E-Class and adds a dash of style. It comes with a soft-top convertible roof that can be retracted or deployed in just 20 seconds.

The car is powered by a V6, 3-litre 6-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 333 bhp of power and 480 Nm of torque, with power transmitted to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifts behind the steering wheel. The vehicle also has a few unique safety features such as rear head restraints that deploy in the event of a rollover or seat belt extenders that allow for easy access to the belts once a person has got in. The E Cabriolet is a four seater with all the creature comforts including Internet connectivity and Net radio.

Mercedes Benz CLS 250 CDI Coupe

The Mercedes CLS 250 Coupe comes only in a diesel variant. It is powered by a 2.1 litre four cylinder diesel engine that puts out 204 bhp of power and 500 Nm of torque with a seven-speed automatic transmission (7G-tronic) and paddle shifts. The vehicle also features an airmatic, air suspension that helps in ride comfort. It is equipped with all the creature comforts such as a sun roof, 360 degree parking camera, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, dual zone climate control etc. It also comes with Mercedes Benz apps and Net connectivity in the infotainment system.

A unique feature of the CLS 250 CDI is the multibeam LED headlamps. These smart headlamps automatically vary the light intensity from the LED headlamps depending on traffic conditions and road conditions. It will automatically dip the beam or black out an area if it senses an oncoming vehicle, so as not to dazzle the other driver. It also pre-emptively will scan the road ahead and deploy the cornering light function to see around bends and roundabouts.

Both cars are available immediately in a choice of colours including red, blue and white for the E Cabriolet.
