MG Hector Anniversary Edition SUV launched: Prices start from Rs. 13.63 lakh

MG Motor entered Indian market last year and received an overwhelming response from the customers. Their first product Hector became a huge hit and had a long waiting period. It competes with the likes of Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier in the mid-size SUV segment. MG Motor has now launched a special Anniversary Edition of the vehicle in the market and the new SUV is slightly different from the regular Hector currently available on sale. It offers couple of more features that makes it a bit more special.

MG Hector Anniversary edition is based on the ‘Super’ trim. The car offers all the features that a regular Hector Super trim offers and more. The price for Anniversary Edition has also not been increased. It is the same as regular Hector Super trim. It is available with both petrol and diesel engine options and the price for petrol version is Rs 13.63 lakh, ex-showroom and Rs 14.99 lakh, ex-showroom for the diesel version. Coming to the changes, the Hector Anniversary Edition offers a 10.3 inch touchscreen infotainment screen, wireless charging, air purifier and a Medklinn in car kit to sterilise the interiors.

So, customers are getting four more features with the SUV in this Anniversary Edition at no additional cost. Apart from these feature additions, there are no changes on the exteriors of the SUV. It still remains the same with no cosmetic changes. Also, it’s mechanically the same, and is available with a petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version is powered by a 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine generating 140 PS of peak power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The petrol version gets a hybrid version with manual geaabox and non-hybrid version gets a DCT gerabox as option. The diesel version of the Hector is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 173 PS of peak power and 350 Nm of peak torque. It is available with a 6 speed manual gearbox only.

MG Motor is now slowly expanding its portfolio in Indian market. The automaker now has 3 SUVs on sale one of which is an all electric ZS EV. MG Motor recently launched Hector Plus, which is a 6-seater version of the regular Hector with captain seats for middle row passengers. MG will soon be launching their fourth product – the Gloster luxury SUV – in the market soon. It has been spotted testing couple of times. The Gloster will compete with SUVs such as Ford Endeavour, Alturas G4, Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X in the luxury SUV segment.
