MG Hector SUV bookings to officially commence soon: Date revealed

MG Hector, one of the most anticipated cars that will be launched in the Indian market later this year has been already revealed through multiple spy pictures. MG Motors officially unveiled the vehicle earlier this month. Soon, MG Motors will start to officially accept the bookings for the all-new car.

MG Motors has announced that from 4th June, the bookings for the MG Hector will start throughout India. MG Motors currently has around 50 dealership in India and all the dealerships will start accepting the bookings from 4th June itself. The price announcement of the MG Hector is expected to happen by the end of this month or early July. It should be noted that the Hector will be the first vehicle from the brand and will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and the likes. MG Motors is expected to be ready with 120 touch points (sales and service) through the network of current 50 dealerships soon. By the end of 2019, MG Motors is planning to take the number of touch points of 250, which will make it convenient for prospective customers to find an MG touchpoint.

Apart from physically reaching the MG Motors touchpoints and booking the car, customers can also book it online through the official website of the brand. The first showroom of the MG Motors will be inaugurated in Delhi on 4th June itself.

Now coming to the car, the MG Hector looks like a proper full-size SUV in the segment. It gets a larger footprint and looks very modern. Similar to the Tata Harrier, the Hector gets sleek LED DRL on either side of the grille while the main headlamp cluster is positioned down below. The car gets a generous amount of chrome on the outside. The Hector looks quite good and offers a few segment-first features too.

To start with, the MG Hector offers a huge 10.4-inch vertically-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, which is similar to the Telsa vehicles. The all-new Hector also gets a cloud-connected infotainment system that adds a range of features to the vehicle. The MG Hector allows live tracking of the vehicle, and can also update the infotainment system remotely. The owners can also use a smartphone to control the features of the MG Hector. Moreover, it also gets an AI-based voice recognition system that can be used to operate various features of the car.

The MG Hector will be offered with two engine options – 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum of 143 Bhp. The petrol engine also gets an optional mild-hybrid system. The diesel variants will get powered by the 2.0-litre diesel engine that generates a maximum of 170 Bhp. The Hector will come loaded with features and is expected to carry a price tag of around Rs 15 lakh.
