MG Motor celebrates the 1st birthday of the Hector SUV with new TVC

MG Motors entered the Indian market last year with the all-new Hector. The new car became a sensation soon after the prices were announced, which caused a long waiting period on the car. MG also had to increase the production of the Hector to meet the rising demands. The Hector has now completed one year in India and has released a new commercial showing the journey of the car and what customers think about it.

The MG Hector became instantly popular in the market, especially because of its long feature list and a value-for-money price tag. In the first eight months, the Hector received more than 50,000 bookings and delivered more than 20,000 units to the customers. However, due to the production limitations of the assembly plant at Halol, the high demand could not be met.

Due to the lockdown related to the COVID-19, MG had to cut down the productions but at the same time is also working to increase the production capacity of the Halol plant. The Hector takes on the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and even the lower-end variant of the Jeep Compass and higher-end variants of the cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

The MG Hector comes with a long list of feature including a massive 10.25-inch infotainment screen that gets a host of Internet-connected features. The Hector also gets voice-activated features that can be used to open and close the sunroof, play music and similar several other things. The Hector is a five-seater SUV and gets both petrol and diesel engine options.

The Hector gets three powertrain options. There is 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol that gets a manual as well as an option of 7-speed automatic, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol with hybrid option and a 2.0-litre diesel. The hybrid and diesel engine options are only available with the manual transmission for now.

It should be noted that MG currently offers two SUVs in India and its second car in the market was an electric SUV. MG is now planning to launch the MG Hector Plus, which will be based on the Hector and will offer three-row seating. The Hector Plus will also be the first six-seater from the manufacturer in the Indian market and at a later date, seven-seater version of the car will be launched too.
