MG Motors will soon launch its all-new Hector in the Indian market. The all-new car will be launched by the end of this month or early next month in the Indian market.

MG Hector bookings open: Launch weeks away

Currently, MG has 120 touchpoints across India and the bookings have been started through offline and online modes at a payment of Rs 50,000. The MG Hector is expected to carry a value-for-money price tag and the entry-level price tag is expected to be around Rs 12-14 lakh. This will put immense pressure on the competitors like the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and the Jeep Compass.

Nonetheless, the MG Hector looks humungous on the roads. The front gets a modern design with a large grille and sleek DRL positioned beside the front grille. The headlamp clusters are placed down below in the bumper and the whole set-up makes the car look quite good and adds a massive road presence. The MG Hector also gets an eye-catchy set of tail lamps that are connected to each other through a thick reflector. The Hector sure looks extremely good and intimidating on the roads.

On the inside, the Hector will get quite a few new-age technologies. First of all, it will be the first vehicle in the segment that will remain cloud-connected all the time with an integrated eSIM. This will also allow the car to be remotely tracked and even remotely controlled through a smartphone. The cloud-connected system also allows the users to download the updates directly in the vehicle without the need to visit the service centre.

The vehicle also gets Artificial Intelligence-enabled infotainment system. This allows the users to say voice commands to control various features in the car including features like opening and closing of the windows, sunroof and other various functions. The Hector also gets a panoramic sunroof, which will be the first-in-segment feature among the others.

The MG Hector will be launched with two engine options. There will be a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 141 Bhp and a peak torque of 250 Nm. It also gets an optional 48-volt hybrid system, which will add another 20 Nm to the car and will increase the overall mileage of the car. The diesel versions of the MG Hector will be powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet diesel engine that powers the Tata Harrier and the Jeep Compass in the Indian market. It will generate around 170 PS and 350 Nm in the Hector. The petrol engine option also gets a dual-clutch transmission as an option but the diesel engine only offers a 6-speed manual transmission.
