The MG Hector offers the segment-first 10.4-inch vertically-mounted touchscreen infotainment system. LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree surround camera, heated ORVMs, ambient lighting and more. The MG Hector’s highlighted feature is the connected services. The car comes with an integrated eSIM that gives live location updates to the user’s phone. Also, the smartphone app can be used to turn on the AC, control the engine and set-up features like geo-fencing. The Hector can also download the system updates and upgrade the software just like smartphones. Moreover, the vehicle gets AI-based voice recognition that can be used to control several features of the car including the windows, AC, navigation and many more.

The Tata Harrier only gets a single engine option and a single transmission option. The Harrier is powered by the 2.0-litre KRYOTEC engine, which is sourced from Fiat. It is the same Multijet engine that also powers the Jeep Compass and the MG Hector. In the Harrier, the engine produces a maximum power of 138 Bhp and peak torque of 350 Nm. There’s a six-speed manual transmission as standard with all the variants of the SUV.

The MG Hector offers both petrol and diesel engine options. Talking about the diesel engine, it gets the same engine as the Harrier. However, the engine tuned to produce a maximum power of 170 Bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine available with the Hector is a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. It produces a maximum of 141 Bhp and 250 Nm. The diesel engine option is only available with a six-speed manual transmission while the customers can choose between a six-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT with the petrol engine option. MG also offers an optional 48V mild-hybrid technology with the Hector that adds another 20 Nm. However, this version is only available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
