MG Motors made their debut in Indian market with their first product Hector SUV. It became an instant hit among buyers because of various reason like the looks, features, and the price of the car. There was and still there is a long waiting period for the Hector SUV in some of the cities. After a while MG launched their second vehicle ZS EV which is an all electric SUV. Like Hector, MG ZS EV is also priced competitively. Earlier this month at the 2020 auto expo, MG showcased some of their international models and also unveiled the vehicles that would eventually make it to India. The vehicles that would be launched in the Indian market soon are MG Hector Plus, MG G10 and MG Gloster.
MG Hector Plus
This was the first vehicle unveiled by the brand at the expo and probably would also be the first one to get launched. MG Hector Plus is basically the 6-seater version of the Hector. Compared to the regular Hector, Hector Plus has got some changes on the outside like a new design to the headlamp, LED DRLs, bumper (both front and rear). On the inside, the Hector Plus gets brown leather interiors with captain seats for second row of passengers. dimension wise, Hector Plus is slightly longer than regular Hector. The 6-seater Hector Plus is also likely to be powered by the same set of engine and transmission as that of the Hector.
MG Gloster
The Full size SUV Gloster is likely to be the second product that will be launched in India. Gloster when launched will compete with Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4 and so on. Gloster is already sold in international market as Maxus D90 and is a well equipped SUV. Indian version of the Gloster is likely to be powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel and a petrol engine.
MG G10
G10 is a luxury MPV that MG had unveiled at the expo. when launched, it will compete with cars like recently launched Kia Carnival and Toyota Innova. G10 is already available in international market and comes in 7,9 and 10 seater configurations. It is feature loaded SUV just like any other MG vehicle that is sold in India currently. MG G10 when launched is likely to get a 2.0 litre turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine options with manual or an automatic transmission.
