MG Motor made their debut in Indian market back in 2019 and their first product Hector was a huge success among buyers. Over the years, MG now has four products in India, including the fully electric SUV ZS EV. MG has plans to expand their portfolio and one of the products that will soon be launching in the market is a petrol version of the ZS SUV. The SUV has been spotted testing on our roads several times. MG ZS is a mid size SUV that will competes with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos in the market. Once again the petrol version of MG ZS SUV has been spotted testing on our roads.
The pictures are shared by IAB on their website and according to the report, it was spotted testing in Mumbai. Earlier, an MG ZS with camouflage was also spotted testing in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The one spotted in Mumbai is also completely covered. The spy picture only shows the rear profile of the upcoming MG ZS SUV. From what we can see in the image here, the design looks pretty similar to what we have seen in the electric version.
There will be some cosmetic changes that will differentiate it from the electric version. The headlights will be slightly different from the EV version. It will be a lot more aggressive looking and the headlights would get a redesigned LED DRL and projector headlamp. The grille itself would be redesigned and might get honey comb design in it. There is even a possibility that the front grille is similar to what we have seen in the Hector 2021 facelift.

Just like the headlight and the grille, the front bumper will also be redesigned to give it a muscular look. The side profile of the SUV will not see much changes but, looking at the picture it looks like MG will be introducing a new design to the alloy wheels. Roof rails and the shark fin antenna on the roof is also visible in the spy image. Moving to the rear, it would get split LED tail lamps and a different bumper.
Moving inside, MG is expected to offer a long list of features. It is expected to get an 8.0 inch touchscreen infotainment screen, connected car services, leather seats, electric sunroof (may be a panoramic one), electrically adjustable driver seat, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, push button start, automatic climate control and so on. rear AC vents, air purifier and so on.
The MG ZS SUV is expected to come with a petrol engine option only. Internationally, MG offers a variety of engine options for ZS SUV. As of now, there is no clarity on which engine will be used in the Indian version. There is a 1.5 litre naturally aspirated, 1.0 litre turbo petrol and a 1.3 litre turbo petrol engine available internationally. There is a possibility the MG might use the same 1.5 litre petrol engine seen in Hector. They might detune this engine to make ZS a bit more fuel efficient. It might be offered with both manual and automatic transmission options. MG has not confirmed as on when they will be launching the MG ZS SUV in the market. It is expected to take place some time later this year.
