MG Motor India currently offers Hector and the ZS EV in the Indian market. The British manufacturer entered the Indian market last year and it has already become quite popular in the market. MG India’s next product that will be launched in the Indian market will yet another SUV. The next SUV from the manufacturer will challenge the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in the Indian market.
The Maxus D90, which is already on sale in Australia and China under different brand names will be launched on 5th February 2020, the first day of 2020 Auto Expo. MG Motor India has already released a teaser image with the car in the background. The vehicle will get a slew of India-specific changes that will attract the Indian customers. The teaser image reveals a lot about the upcoming Maxus D90.
The front of the vehicle reveals the grille of the vehicle, which looks similar to the MG Hector’s grille. It looks quite intimidating on the roads too. Other than that, there is a lot of chrome on the body of the vehicle. There is a thick chrome window line on the vehicle and chrome handlebars too. The car also gets new alloy wheels that look extremely good on the SUV. The interior of the vehicle is also expected to get a lot of changes for the Indian market.
The all-new MG Maxus D90 will be the biggest vehicle in the segment. It offers a massive length of 5,005mm, which makes it longer than any of the cars in the segment. Moreover, it is even longer than the luxury SUVs like the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200. The vehicle towers over any other vehicle in the segment, just like the MG Hector, which is the biggest vehicle in the segment.
Just like the MG Hector, the MG Maxus D90 will get a long list of features and many of them are expected to be segment-first. The car will get LED headlamps, LED DRLs, panoramic sunroof, heated seats, seat massager, heated wing mirrors, tailgate controlled via gesture, ambient lighting system, three-zone automatic air-conditioning system, 8.0-inch multiple information display on the instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated seats, heated seats and more.
The vehicle is available with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the international markets. It generates a maximum power of 224 PS and gets a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Indian-spec Maxus D90 will be powered by an all-new 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 218 PS and peak torque of 480 Nm. Being a premium vehicle, it will get an automatic transmission. The car is likely to be priced at around Rs 30-35 lakhs.
