Mitsubishi recalls Outlanders to fix fuel pump

HM-Mitsubishi has issued a recall for the Outlander due to faulty fuel pump. The recall is applicable to all Outlander models the company has sold since its launch in 2008. Expect the company to call Outlander owners and request them to bring their cars to the authorized service centre to replace the faulty fuel pump free of cost.

In March 2012, Mitsubishi launched the 2012 Outlander 7-seater at Rs. 20.55 lakh. Along with a third row of seats, the new Outlander has paddle shifters. The Outlander is powered by a 2.4 litre petrol motor that puts out 166.6 Bhp of maximum power and is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Outlander returns a claimed mileage of 10.3 kmpl. The Outlander comes with features such as audio and cruise control, HID headlamps, front dual stage airbags, ABS with EBD, music system with 6-CD player & USB port connected to nine speakers including four tweeters and one woofer. The Outlander is a capable SUV but has lost its grounds because buyers in the premium SUV segment mostly prefer diesel-powered SUVs whereas the Outlander comes only in petrol engine version.

Mitsubishi has added to its SUV portfolio in India with the launch of the Pajero Sport a couple of months ago. The company now sells the Montero, Pajero Sport, Outlander, Pajero SFX and Mitsubishi Cedia in India. The Pajero SFX may be discontinued soon.
