Modern-day automotive designs have seen a tremendous advancement. While almost all cars have adopted modern day designs, there are still many motorcycles that pay a tribute to the designs of the past. Manufacturers still launch motorcycles with timeless designs. Here are a few future-classic bikes that you can buy soon in India.
Royal Enfield Continental GT 650
Expected price: Rs. 3.4 lakhs
The Royal Enfield Continental GT 535 was the first affordable cafe racer bike in the Indian market. The bike has now been discontinued and will be replaced with the upcoming Royal Enfield Continental GT 650. The bike proudly shows its vintage-era inspired design with an elongated tank and aggressive cafe racer seating position.
Even with the vintage-bike inspired design, the Continental GT gets modern bits, such as disc brakes on both the wheels with standard ABS. It also gets an all-new parallel-twin engine that produces a maximum power of 47 Bhp and 52 Nm.
Royal Enfield Interceptor
Expected price: Rs. 3.2 lakhs
Royal Enfield will rekindle the Interceptor moniker soon. The retro-styled cruiser motorcycle looks distinctive with its simple design. It gets a round headlamp with a nicely shaped fuel tank. To mimic the design of the past, it gets a lot of chrome too.
The bike will be the first of the two bikes that will be powered by the all-new 650-cc parallel-twin engine. It churns out a maximum of 47 Bhp and 52 Nm and gets a 6-speed slipper clutch transmission. It also gets standard ABS. Both the bikes are expected to be launched around mid-year.
Benelli Leoncino
Expected price: Rs. 3.0 lakhs
The Leoncino is a scrambler bike that gets inspiration from the bikes of yesteryear. The loud design of the bike will enable it to stand out in the crowd. It will be powered by a 500-cc parallel twin cylinder engine. It produces a maximum power of 49.6 Bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 45 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine features four-valve heads, liquid-cooling, fuel injection and a wet clutch. The expected launch is around the festive season this year.
Husqvarna Vitpilen 401
Expected price: Rs. 2.6 lakhs
The upcoming Husqvarna bikes are one of the most awaited in the Indian market. The Vitpilen 401 is known as the white arrow and is a cafe-racer styled bike. Even though it has enough modern elements in its design, the bike still brings to mind a minimalistic retro design. The body of the bike is made out of a single flowing piece that gives it a dramatic design. The Vitpilen 401 is based on the KTM 390 Duke and gets the same engine and chassis. The single-cylinder 373-cc engine generates a maximum of 42 Bhp and 35 Nm of torque.
Husqvarna Svartpilen 401
Expected price: Rs. 2.75 lakhs
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 is known as the “Black Arrow” and is the scrambler version of the Vitpilen. It gets knobby tyres, a high handlebar and other rugged body parts that make it a better bike on rough surfaces. The Svartpilen also gets a more relaxed riding position. The engine of the bike is same as the Vitpilen and it generates a similar 42 Bhp – 35 Nm. Both the Husqvarna bikes are expected to be launched by the end of this year.
