Mahindra Thar got launched in the market last year and it quickly grabbed attention of SUV lovers in the country. It was and still is one of the most affordable 4×4 SUV one can buy in the country. The SUV is so popular that even today, there is a waiting period of almost an year on this SUV. Just like the older version Thar, the new generation Thar is also popular among off-roaders and many have already done several off-road friendly modifications to the SUV. We have featured several Thar’s on our website but, here we have a Mahindra Thar that completely modified with off-roading in mind.
The video has been shared by Rajni Chaudhary on her YouTube channel. Vlogger starts by showing all the modifications that have been made to the Thar to make it more off-road friendly. The SUV gets a matte finish PPF coating on which protects the original paint from minor scratches that might occur while off-roading. The front grille and the bumper has been replaced as well.

It gets a FRP fron off-road bumper which improves the approach and departure angle of the SUV. fog lamps are integrated into the bumper and a pair of auxiliary lamps and LED bar are also installed above it. A pair of a shackle hooks are also installed on the bumper to recover the vehicle. The headlamps are also aftermarket units with ring type dual function LED DRL.
The front grille, bumper and other black portions on the car get LineX coating. Under the car it gets a metal skid plate which protect the underbody of the car. A snorkel has been installed and in the side metal rock sliders are also installed. The stock 18 inch wheels have been replaced with aftermarket all-black wheels with chunky looking off-road tyres.
The glass for rear passenger cannot be opened in stock setup but, in this Thar it gets a sliding window to make the rear cabin a lot more airy. This is a hardtop version and the roof also gets LineX coating. The rear profile of the car reveals spare wheel lock made from metal along with a cover, custom made rear bumper with shackle and tow hooks. Overall, the SUV looks prepared for any off-road conditions. The suspension setup on this Mahindra Thar has also been upgraded.
Moving inside, there are customisations done here as well. The all black cabin of the Mahindra Thar now gets a light brown or mud brown shade interiors. The door panels, dashboard and center console are all covered in soft touch material. The roof lines has been redone and this Thar gets another feature that no other Thar gets. It gets manual sunroof which can come handy while off-roading. The seats get mud brown colour upholstery and there are several seat organisers inside the car.
An armrest has been installed for both front and rear passengers with USB charging points. The switches for all the auxiliary lamps are placed under the driver armrest. The rear seat has been completely redone as it can be slided forward and back to create more space. It can also be tumbled down individually if needed. Overall the SUV looks rugged and has a unique look to it.
