Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular 4×4 SUVs in the market currently. The reason behind its popularity is the price. It is currently the most affordable 4×4 SUV in the market and there is no other SUV in the market rivalling it. Thar is so popular that it currently has a waiting period as long an year. People have already started modifying current generation Thar and we have featured many of them on our website too. Here we have a neatly modified Mahindra Thar that comes with a custom made metal hard top and customised interiors.
The Mahindra Thar seen here in the images has been customised by Sikand Car World, Ludhiana. They specialise in customising SUVs like Mahindra Thar. Coming to Mahindra Thar, they have customised many Mahindra Thar SUVs in the past and this is one of their recent projects. The whole car has been modified inside out. First thing that one would notice about this Thar is the paint job. It gets a gloss cherry Red colour all over the car. When we say all over the car, it includes the thick black cladding, front are rear bumper and roof as well. Every exterior panel on this Thar is painted in gloss Red. At the front, the stock bumper of Mahindra Thar has been replaced for Jeep Wrangler like aftermarket grille.

The headlamps are now all LED units with LED DRLS and integrated turn indicators. Another modification at the front is the bumper. The SUV now comes with a Wrangler like aftermarket off-road bumper with fog lamps and turn indicators in it. The halogen turn indicators and LED DRLs installed on the fenders have been retained.
Coming to the side profile, the stock 18 inch alloy wheels and tyres have been replaced wider looking aftermarket all black alloy wheels. The hard top roof on this Mahindra Thar are not the stock one. Sikand Cars made a custom made metal roof for the Thar. Other features installed on this Thar include an automatic footrest. The tail lamps are stock and the spare wheel of same design and size is mounted on the tailgate as well.
Other than exterior changes, customisations have been done to the interiors as well. The whole cabin gets a tan finish to it. Interiors now look a lot more premium than original. It now gets Push button start/stop, aftermarket touchscreen infotainment screen, leather wrapped seats, ambient lights, armrest and cupholders for rear seat passengers, manual sunroof for second row passenger and so on. The plastic bits inside the cabin are finished in silver and steering wheel has also been wrapped in tan coloured upholstery. Overall, the work done on this Thar looks pretty neat and it does look premium.
Mahindra Thar is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel version is powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk turbo diesel engine that generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque.
