Maruti Suzuki Baleno has become unstoppable when it comes to the sales in the Indian market. Last month, the premium hatchback from Maruti secured the second spot on the sales chart with more than 18,000 units sold. The Baleno is immensely popular for various reasons and there are quite a few modified versions of it in the market.
However, the one we see in the pictures below is undoubtedly the hottest Baleno on the Indian roads.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno scissor doors
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno sells like hot cakes in the Indian market and there are ample sightings of the hatchback on the roads. This one has been modified by 360 Motoring, Kollam. The most striking modification done to this Baleno is the Lamborghini-styled gullwing doors. They open upwards and look extremely good on the hatchback. The doors look like stock when closed. The rear doors are stock and open in a regular way.
Apart from the scissor doors, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno also gets a body kit all around. The front has been updated thoroughly with a new grille and a new bumper. The lower part of the bumper houses LED lamps and there is black splitter too. The headlamps are stock, however, a body coloured wrap has been placed on the upper part of the headlamp to reduce its size and make it look sleeker.
The underbody spoiler on the side also looks quite modern and ravishing. The modified hatchback now rides on aftermarket 17-inch rims with low-profile tyres. It has been lowered too, which gives it an aggressive stance. It also gets a dual colour job on the body. Starting from A-Pillar, the upper part of the Baleno has been given a gloss wrap. The wrap also covers the window rims, roof and the pillars, which adds a very sophisticated look to the vehicle.
At the rear, the Baleno gets aftermarket bumper with a big diffuser and integrated exhaust. The slim exhaust-end looks very neat. The tail lamps have been upgraded to the aftermarket ones and it is all-LED now. The modder has also removed all the traces of chrome from the vehicle except for the rear beltline on the hatch door.
It is not known if any changes have been done to the engine itself. The regular version of the Baleno gets a 1.2-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 82 Bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque. It gets a 5-speed manual and a CVT transmission. There is a 1.3-litre diesel engine too that generates a maximum of 74 Bhp and a peak torque of 190 Nm.
There is no automatic transmission available with the diesel engine. Maruti Suzuki India also offers a high-performance RS variant of the Baleno that is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. It produces a maximum of 101 Bhp and 150 Nm of peak torque. The Baleno RS gets only a 5-speed manual transmission.
