This modified type 2 Toyota Fortuner with aftermarket body kit wants to be a Lexus

Toyota Fortuner is a popular SUV in its segment. It has been in the market for over a decade and popularity does not seem to come down. It is a capable off-roader and we have seen several videos of Fortuner showing off its capabilities on the internet. It is a commonly spotted SUV on  the road and among off-road enthusiasts. Just like Innova, Fortuner is also known for being reliable. Several modification options are available for both current and older generation Toyota Fortuner SUVs and we have featured many of them on our website as well. Here we have a type 2 Toyota Fortuner SUV which get an aftermarket body kit that gives it a much more premium look than regular Fortuners.

The video has been shared by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. Video shows how the SUV looked when it had arrived at the workshop and also shows the modification process. Video mentions that the owner wanted to give it a unique look. We have seen several videos where the current generation Fortuner is fitted with an aftermarket Lexus kit but, there are no examples of similar type of modifications on the older version.

They chose for a Taiwan built aftermarket Lexus kit for this Fortuner. It is probably the first Fortuner in the country to get this kit installed. For this modifications, the front and rear bumper along with the front grille were completely removed. The aftermarket body kit is made from ABS grade plastic and looks good. After removing the panels, the new body kit was installed in place.

The body kit completely changed the look of the car. It now looks a lot more aggressive and premium from the front. The large and wide front grille at the front gets blacked out patterns and the grille has a chrome outline as well. The bumper was completely changed and it now gets, a lot more muscular looking unit with boomerang shaped dual function LED DRLs. The lower part of the bumper also gets an LED DRL that acts as turn indicator.

The owner wanted to replace the stock headlamps too. So, the original unit was replaced for an aftermarket projector unit with LED DRLs in it. Fog lamps are placed on the inner part of the boomerang shaped LED DRL on bumper. No other major changes have been done to the front end of the SUV. Other than this, the rear bumper on this Fortuner has also been replaced. It gets an aftermarket bumper which is part of the Lexus kit.

It comes with a diffuser like design with gloss black design on the lower part. There are chrome finished faux exhaust tips and a set of reflector lamps are also seen here. The tail lamp on this Fortuner was already replaced for an aftermarket unit by the owner. Overall, the work done on this Toyota Fortuner looks pretty neat. The body kit does give it a distinct look on the road and it gives the SUV a much more premium and sporty look.
