It was only recently that we broke the news to you about the new AX7 Smart variant that Mahindra has been contemplating for the new XUV700. This new variant of the Mahindra XUV700 is expected to miss out on autonomous driving assistance system (ADAS) features and will be priced below the regular AX7 variant. Now, according to a recent development, we have got our hands on more information shared by Car Blog India on the new AX7 Smart variant of the XUV700.

In a circular released for the sales consultants of Mahindra, it is mentioned that the ADAS is not the only feature that is going to be omitted from the AX7 for the new AX7 Smart variant. There are some other features, which will be given a miss for the new variant, including electronic stability program, hill hold assist, hill descent control, driver knee airbag, drive modes, electronic parking brake, wireless charger for smartphones, electronic door handles with passive keyless entry, telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel and driver drowsiness detection.

A majority of the features mentioned above do require complex electronics and circuits using semiconductor chips, for which there is a massive supply shortage going on globally. To reduce the load of the waiting period and booking backlog, Mahindra has taken this step to offer a variant below the top-spec AX7. This new AX7 Smart variant is for those who want the feel of having a top-end variant but can live without these exclusive and premium features.

Other features to remain the same

Like in the AX7 variant, these engine options will be on sale with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox choices.
