Movie star Nagarjuna gifts Badminton champion PV Sindhu a brand-new BMW X5 luxury SUV

Ace shuttler, PV Sindhu who recently made it into the headlines for winning the gold at BWF World Championships received a swanky new BMW from movie star Nagarjuna. Sindhu became the first Indian to win the gold at the world championships, which is one of the toughest tournaments. The keys of the car were handed over to the shuttler by Akkineni Nagarjuna.

Even the coach of PV Sindhu – P Gopichand was present at the ceremony. It was facilitated by V. Chamundeswaranath, vice-president of Telangana Badminton Association. This is not the first gift facilitated by him. In fact, this is the 22nd vehicle that he presented. The BMW X5 presented to PV Sindhu was bought by pooling money with like-minded friends and corporate bosses. Also, the cricketing legend and BMW India’s official ambassador Sachin Tendulkar put in his efforts to make the X5 possible.

The exact variant of the BMW X5 gifted to PV Sindhu is not known. However, the 2019 BMW X5 was launched earlier this year and the cheapest variant of the vehicle costs Rs 72.9 lakh. The on-road price of the most affordable variant would be more than Rs 80 lakhs. The car launched by Sachin Tendulkar. Currently, the all-new X5 gets two variant in the market – xDrive30d Sport and XDriver 30d xLine. At a later stage, BMW will launch the only petrol variant in the Indian market – the BMW X4 xDrive 40i M Sport.

This is the fourth-generation BMW X5 and is the biggest X5 yet in the Indian market. It comes with a range of high-end features and the kidney grille in the front has also become much larger and much more imposing than any of the previous-generation models. The all-new X5 also gets the all-new all-LED adaptive headlamps with adaptive LED DRLs. Even the fog lamps are now all-LED. At the rear, the X5 gets a 3D signature that makes the SUV look very distinctive. Also, it gets optional 21-inch wheels. However, the vehicle gifted to PV Sindhu has to the regular wheels.

The cabin of the all-new X5 is feature-laden. It gets live cockpit display with a fully-digital instrument cluster. The dashboard also gets a floating-type infotainment system with an updated iDrive system. The screen can be controlled through various gestures and voice commands too. The all-new X5 gets a four-zone climate control system and high-tech features like wireless phone charging system. The passengers travelling at the rear get to use the entertainment screens too. It gets a panoramic roof and ambient lighting system too.

The all-new BMW X5 diesel gets powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates a maximum power of 261 Bhp and peak torque of a massive 620 Nm. It gets an automatic transmission, which can take it to 100 km/h from standstill in just 6.5 seconds.
