Among all the cricketers currently in India, former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the most avid car and motorcycle enthusiast. The ace cricketer, who has several accolades in his name, has a desirable automobile collection comprising modern and vintage classics in both four wheels and two wheels. In a recent development, Dhoni has acquired a brand-new Kia EV6, which makes it the first all-electric vehicle to get added to his car collection.

In a video uploaded on Twitter, Mahendra Singh Dhoni is seen sitting in his new Kia EV6 along with his companions, fellow cricketers Ruturaj Gaekwad and Kedar Jadhav. The grey-coloured Kia EV6, which happens to be the signature shade of the all-electric crossover globally, looks brand-new, as it is being driven on temporary registration numbers.
Kia EV6 remains sold out
Launched in 2022, the Kia EV6 is the most expensive and the first all-electric vehicle from the Korean carmaker in India. Brought through the CBU route, the Kia EV6 was launched in limited numbers. However, the all-electric crossover has been off to a flying start, as it has been raking in good numbers for Kia. Recently, Kia revealed that it has sold over 200 units of the EV6 in India since its launch, which is quite appreciable for a vehicle of its cost and stature. Kia is now looking forward to increased allocation of more units of EV6 in India, however, it has not been confirmed how many more units of EV6s will be allocated to India in the coming months.

The Kia EV6 arrived in India in two different variants with a starting price of Rs 59.95 lakh. The base variant of the EV6 comes with a two-wheel-drive configuration with a front-mounted single motor, which claims 229 bhp of maximum power and 350 Nm of maximum torque. The more premium all-wheel-drive version is powered by a combination of two electric motors, with one each on the front and rear axles, with the combined power and torque outputs rated at 325 bhp and 605 Nm respectively.
Kia claims an astonishing range of 708 km on the ARAI cycle for the EV6 from its 77.4 kWh battery pack, which can be charged from up to 350 kW DC fast chargers. The EV6 is the first born-electric vehicle from Kia, which is based on Hyundai-Kia’s e-GMP platform. The Kia EV6 currently competes with Volvo XC40 Recharge, and will soon be competing with its distant cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which will arrive in India in the first quarter of 2023.
Dhoni owns many vintage cars
Dhoni keeps on adding new cars to his collection every now and then. Dhoni recently added a 1969 Ford Mustang to the garage, which is super rare in India. It is a muscle car and it featured in many movies in the past.
The 1969 Mustang shares space with the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow, which Dhoni got for himself some time ago. He was even spotted driving the car on the streets of Ranchi when he initially bought the car. It does not come out of the garage much nowadays.
In the same glass enclosure, there is a Pontiac Trans-Am, which he bought some time ago. It is also a muscle car. MS Dhoni’s latest acquisition is a Pontiac Firebird TransAm classic car. The American muscle car seems recently restored. Its actual age could be about 40 years. The car is powered by a 455 big-block V8 engine that powers the rear wheels. Peak power is about 325 Bhp and the gearbox is a 4-speed unit.
Dhoni also owns a set of modern cars and SUVs. He drives around in a Hummer H2 painted in a striking green colour. Dhoni also owns the Nissan 1 Ton truck, which he bought and got restored in India.
