Whenever Mukesh Ambani gets out on the roads of Mumbai, everybody gets to know about it. That is because of the extensive convoy that travels with him. He travels only in armoured vehicles because of his Z+ security. Also, the family never travels together, even though they all are going to the same destination. Here, we have a video of Mukesh Ambani’s convoy and his Mercedes-Benz S-Guard.
The pictures have been shared on carcrazy.india’s Instagram channel. The pictures show the subtle and understated S-Guard. Mercedes-Benz has designed the S-Guard intentionally this way so that it does not attract any unwanted attention. The colour is also a very common silver and there is also no special badging. From the exterior, no one can tell that this Mercedes-Benz luxury sedan would cost over Rs. 10 Crores.
This is the W222 generation of S-Class and it was registered on 27th March 2020. The customization options for such vehicles are limitless. So, it is not known what all customizations have Ambani opted for and what is the exact price of the S-Guard.
The S600 S-Guard comes with VR10 level protection. So, it can take a 15 kg TNT blast from a distance of just 2 metres. It is also capable of withstanding steel core bullets being fired directly at the vehicle. Needless to say, windows are also bulletproof and the windows are also polycarbonate-coated. Mercedes-Benz has a reinforced base structure and an underbody. The bodyshell has been made from reinforced steel while the whole vehicle is made of a special kind of steel to provide strength.
Because of all this, the weight of the S600 has gone up by a huge margin. The weight has gone up to a humongous 2.8-tonnes. Due to this, the manufacturer also had to rework the suspension. You need a very powerful engine to drive such a heavy vehicle. The luxury manufacturer knows this that is why they offer a 6.0-litre V12 gasoline engine that has been twin-turbocharged. The engine produces a massive 523 bhp of max power and 850 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Mukesh Ambani also owns two more bulletproof vehicles. There is a W221 generation of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and a BMW 7 Series High Security. Deliveries of such special vehicles take months because it requires a lot of time to manufacture such a vehicle. So, owners have to prebook their vehicles ahead of time.
In the pictures, we also see four Land Rover Range Rover Vogue that is part of the convoy. One Vogue is in front of the S-Guard while the rest of the three are travelling behind the S-Guard. A single Range Rover Vogue costs upwards of Rs. 2.25 Crores ex-showroom. Other vehicles in the convoy that has been spotted till now are MG Gloster and two Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG.
The cost of G63 AMG is Rs. 2.42 Crores ex-showroom while the Gloster costs much less money as it starts at Rs. 30 lakhs ex-showroom. Ambani family owns a lot of expensive vehicles like Rolls Royce Phantom VIII EWB, Land Rover Range Rover Autobiography, Land Rover Discovery, Maserati Levante, Bentley Bentayga and a couple of Rolls Royce Cullinans.
