Neighbors fight over parking spot: Police arrest members of both families [Video]

Delhi, the capital city of India, is a place where people from several other regions come for work and business. Over the years, the population density in the national capital has increased, creating issues for its residents. One of the major problems that many Delhiites face is parking. There have been numerous instances where fights have broken out over parking spaces within residential areas. Recently, a video of two men fighting over a parking spot in Delhi went viral on the internet, catching the attention of Delhi police officials, who have taken legal action against the culprits.

The video was shared by a Twitter page called “Roads of Mumbai,” and it reportedly captured an incident that occurred in Delhi’s Sant Nagar. The quarrel started over a parking spot, and in the video, one person is seen assaulting another with a stick. It appears that members of both families were involved in the altercation. Despite onlookers gathering around, no one attempted to intervene and stop the fight. The person with the turban was repeatedly hitting the other individual with the stick, while women from the family engaged in an argument with the other person’s wife, who was also present at the scene.

The video indicates that they even tried to push the lady away from the car. However, it remains unclear whether the couple was attempting to park the S-Cross in front of the other person’s house or not. Regardless of the reason, resorting to physical violence is never an appropriate response. The video was recorded by someone living across the street and quickly went viral on the internet, prompting police involvement. After conducting an investigation, the authorities took action against the culprits.

The incident took place on June 23, 2023, and following the fight, Amar Colony police station received a call regarding the altercation. The fight occurred between residents of B-Block in Sant Nagar, Delhi, and upon investigation, it was revealed that the dispute was over a parking spot, with one family accusing the other of physical assault. The police treated the matter seriously, and a medical examination was conducted. A case was registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 308 (Attempt to commit Culpable Homicide), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 427, and 323.

Two accused men were arrested and sent to judicial custody. Subsequent investigations led the department to add sections 354, 147, 148, and 149 IPC to the case. Additionally, two women who were involved in the fight and assault were also arrested and sent to judicial custody. Such incidents can occur to almost anyone living in a populous city like Delhi. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, it is crucial not to engage in physical violence. Always call the police to resolve such issues. In this case, the victim’s family attempted to reason with the culprits, but the heated argument escalated into physical assault, making the situation worse.
