2022 is almost here and there are some manufacturers that will still be launching their new products in the Indian market. Today, we list down 2 such cars that are going to launch in December.

Kia Carens

Kia’s fourth vehicle in India will be Carens. The manufacturer is marketing it as a recreational vehicle. Recently, a teaser was also released by Kia that revealed the Y-shaped LED Daytime Running Lamp of the new MPV. The manufacturer will be revealing the Carens on December 16th. The pricing and launch will be happening sometime in the first half of 2022.

Kia has designed Carens to look like a SUV. This has already been done successfully with XL6. There will be a split headlamp setup, flat bonnet, plastic cladding around the wheel arches, 5-spoke alloy wheels and LED tail lamps.

The interior pictures are already leaked. It will come with a digital instrument cluster, a floating touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel and much more.

BMW iX

2 new car launches in December 2021

BMW is the only premium manufacturer that currently does not have an electric vehicle in India. Audi has the e-Tron, Jaguar has the I-Pace and Mercedes-Benz has the EQC. BMW will be launching the iX on December 13th. The prices of the iX will be somewhere around Rs. 1 Crore ex-showroom.

iX is a SUV and is currently the flagship electric vehicle from BMW. The size of the SUV is comparable to the X5 but it has a lot of room in the cabin. So, in terms of the interior, it is closer to the X7.

In foreign markets, the iX is available in two trims. There is xDrive 40 and xDrive 50. The former has a range of 414 km and the latter has a range of 611 km. The ranges are according to the WLTP cycles. Both trims come with a dual electric motor setup so they are all-wheel drive. The xDrive 40 is less powerful than the xDrive 50. As of now, it is now known which trim will BMW bring to India.

Volkswagen launched the facelifted Tiguan in India last week. The facelifted Tiguan is now offered with a single, 2 liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 7 speed twin clutch DSG automatic gearbox as standard. All wheel drive, which is called 4Motion by Volkswagen, is also on offer as standard with the facelifted Tiguan. The facelifted Volkswagen Tiguan goes up against the Jeep Compass and the Citroen C5 AirCross.
