The Hyundai Santro has taken the hatchback market by storm. Even before its launch, the car bagged about 15,000 bookings and now it is among the top 10 selling cars of India. That’s quiet a feat for a car that has been launched just two months back.
As the car is new in the market, a wide range of accessories are still not available for the car. However, we bring you some cool aftermarket accessories that are now available in the market for the Santro. To buy them, you an get in touch with Romi Motors.
You might remember having seen big ‘FORD’ written over grilles of modified Endeavour and the Ecosport. This Santro here does something similar but has its own name embossed over the grille instead of Hyundai. Surprisingly, this looks quite good unlike what we had expected. The red on black Santro marking looks very good and same is the case with the other design which sees black on silver marking. The grille has also been replaced by a mesh unit and comes with two colour options to choose from, black and silver..
There is also a variety of floor mats out in the market now which are made for the Santro. The orange one seen below looks quite premium along with being easy to clean. On the other hand, there is a black colour option with white markings available too. Floor mats are among the cheapest accessory you on can buy for the car and still, they can make a lot of difference to the overall interior feel. Modern mats are quite easy to clean also and don’t gather as much dust as the older ones did.
Talking about the Santro, the car comes powered by a 1.1-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 69 PS of power along with 99 Nm of torque. It is the same engine that was used in the i10 but it has been thoroughly updated and tuned to meet the latest emission norms. Talking of mileage, the Santro returns an ARAI-certified fuel economy of 20.3 km/l, which is lower than most of its rivals like Maruti Celerio, which returns a maximum of 23.1 km/l and the Tata Tiago.
There is also an AMT transmission option made available on the Santro by Hyundai. According to the company, one among every third Santro to be sold in India is an AMT equipped model. This goes on to tell the shift people are making from manual gearbox to automatic gearbox. The affordability of the AMT also plays a role in this as now cheap hatches also come with one. The Santro starts at Rs. 3.89 lakhs for the base D-lite model and goes all the way upto Rs. 5.64 lakhs for the CNG equipped Sportz trim. As of now, not many accessories are available for the Santro but the coming time will see a lot new accessories being offered for the hatchback.
