2018 Hyundai Santro Live Featured

The all-new Hyundai Santro has begun arriving at dealerships across the country ahead of its 23rd October launch.  Bookings for the car are now open, and the first 50,000 people to book the car ahead of launch get to benefit from a special introductory price. Meanwhile, here are a new set of pictures that show what the all-new Hyundai Santro will look like on the road.

Away from studio lights, these are the first clear pictures of the new Santro – inside out. As the pictures reveal,  the new car gets a unique design that makes it look different from the other Hyundai hatchbacks on sale in India  presently. Typical Hyundai design highlights such as wraparound headlamps, a cascading grille and a curvy overall  shape are seen. The car spied is in the top-end Asta trim.

The new Hyundai Santro also gets a prominent kink in the windowline, something that’s not seen in the cars sold in this segment. On the inside, the interiors are well appointed. The dashboard gets a best-in-class touchscreen  infotainment console. Like most Hyundai cars, the new Santro gets black-beige trim on the inside. The steering shows audio controls for the touchscreen console and also call receiving button – again best-in-class features.

The all-new Santro will use the same 1.1 liter-4 cylinder petrol engine that was last seen in the Santro Xing and the  Hyundai i10. This motor makes 68 Bhp-99 Nm, and is paired to a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard. A 5 speed  automated manual transmission is also on offer. Hyundai will also offer the new Santro with a CNG-Petrol dual fuel  option in specific markets of India.

Leaked prices indicate that the car will start from Rs. 3.87 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, which makes it cheaper than its  key rival – the Maruti WagonR. Variant to variant, the new Santro appears to be cheaper than the WagonR as per the  leaked pricing. If these price figures remain unchanged even at launch, the new Santro could see a lot of buyer  interest.
