New Maruti Suzuki Ignis launched: Priced higher than before

Maruti Suzuki showcased the facelifted version of the Ignis at the 2020 Auto Expo. The Ignis has now been launched officially at Rs 4.89 lakh, which is Rs 6,000 more expensive than the previous version. All the variants of the car are now Rs 6,000 more expensive than the respective variants before. There are a total of seven variants. Here is a detailed price list of the all the variants.

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said,
Maruti Suzuki has also introduced two new colour options with the Ignis. There is a new Lucent Orange and a Turquoise Blue shades available with the car. Additionally, three new dual-tone shades are also available with the car. There is a Nexa Blue with Black roof and Nexa Blue with Silver. The third new colour option is the Lucent orange with Black roof. These new dual-tone options are only available with the Zeta and Alpha trim levels of the car at an additional payment of Rs 13,000.
Mechanically, the Maruti Suzuki Ignis remains unchanged. It gets powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 83 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. The power and torque figures remain unchanged. There are both 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic AMT transmission options available with the car too. Maruti Suzuki has not announced the fuel efficiency figures though. The cabin remains unchanged and the only new feature is the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with new Smart Play Studio system.
