Compact SUVs are currently the most popular segment in country. It is so popular that almost every manufacturer in the country has at least one product in their line up. The segment is currently ruled by cars like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300 and Tata Nexon. One of the latest entrant in the segment is the Renault Kiger. It was launched in the market earlier this year and it is also the most affordable sub-4 meter SUV one can buy in the country. Renault has released an all-new TVC for the Kiger.
The video has been shared by Renault India on their YouTube channel. The video focuses on the design, features and looks of the Renault Kiger. The video shows the exterior design of the Kiger. It is actually inspired by Renault Kwid and Triber. The front grille on Kiger gets a design which looks similar to what we have seen in Triber.

The grille extends to join the LED DRLs. Headlamps are placed on the bumper and it is an all-LED unit. The higher variants have triple ice cube shape design to Kiger. Front fascia on Renault Kiger looks muscular. Moving to the side profile, the car gets 16 inch alloy wheels and there are thick claddings around it. The wheel arches get thick black cladding and roof rails that are actually functional.
As we move to the rear, there is a C-shaped tail lamp, roof mounted spoiler, muscular looking rear bumper, Kiger branding, reverse parking camera and sensors at the rear. A faux skid plate is also seen at the rear.
Renault offers decent number of features in Kiger. Renault has gone for a rather simple design. The car gets features like a touchscreen infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay wirelessly. It gets a multi function steering wheel, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, fully digital instrument cluster and so on. It even comes with drive modes which can be selected using the rotary knob on the center console.
Renault Kiger is available with two engine options. They are both petrol engines. There is a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and the other is a 1.0 litre, three cylinder turbo petrol engine. The naturally aspirated petrol engine of the car generates 72 Ps and 96 Nm of peak torque. The engine is available with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearbox. The turbo petrol version of Kiger generates 100 Ps and 160 Nm of peak torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.
Renault had recently announced that Kiger is the most fuel efficient car in the sub-4 meter SUV segment. The test was conducted to turbo petrol version with manual gearbox and it returned ARAI certified fuel efficiency of 20.5 kmpl. As part of 10 year anniversary celebration in India, Renault also introduced a new variant RXT(O) for Kiger. The SUV is based on CMF-A+ platform. The same platform was also used in cars like Renault Kwid, Renault Triber and Nissan Magnite. Kiger is also being exported to international markets from India.
