Skoda Auto is working on launching two new products this month. They will be launching the Kushaq by the end of this month whose deliveries will start in July. The other product for the manufacturer is the Octavia whose launch has been postponed quite a few times. The new Octavia will be launched on June 10th. This information was shared by Zac Hollis, Skoda’s director of Sales, Service & Marketing on Twitter. The production of the Octavia has already begun at the production facility in Aurangabad, Maharashtra and the dealerships have already started receiving the new sedan in their warehouses. The deliveries of the Octavia will start immediately after the launch.
Did you know: OCTAVIA in Latin means 'the eighth' as it was the eighth vehicle in ŠKODA AUTO's product portfolio post the second world war. Stay tuned to know more about the fourth generation launching on June 10th.#AllNewSkodaOCTAVIA

The new Octavia is entering the fourth generation. It now looks more elegant than the previous generation because of the redesign. The body lines are now more simple and it now looks like a younger sibling of the Skoda Superb.
It ditches the quad headlamp setup and returns to the conventional design with a twin-pod projector setup that used LEDs. The LED Daytime Running Lamps are L-shaped and sit within the headlamp housing. The LED Daytime Running Lamp also doubles up as a turn signal.
It gets Skoda’s butterfly grille that we have also seen on other Skoda models. There is a sleek bumper with a slim air dam and fog lamps. The bonnet is sculpted and a Skoda badge sits just above the grille. On the side, India will get newly designed alloy wheels and a chrome belt that runs with the window. At the rear, there are new LED tail lamps that are in an inverted L-shaped. “SKODA” lettering is spelt across the booth with Octavia badge towards the lower left side.
The new Octavia is based on the MQB EVO platform. Due to this, the fourth generation Octavia is 19 mm longer and 15 mm wider than the third generation. However, the wheelbase stays the same at 2,677 mm. The legroom was never an issue with the Octavia. So, the manufacturer did not change the wheelbase. The rear occupants will have enough legroom and would be able to travel comfortably.
Skoda will offer Octavia with a new petrol engine. It is a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that replaces the old 2.0-litre TDI petrol engine. The new engine is more powerful as it produces 190 PS and 320 Nm of peak torque. The previous 2.0-litre TDI engine used to produce 140 PS. It will come mated to only a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox that will drive the front wheels only.
Features and Equipment
There will be a lot of features on offer. It will come with a digital driver’s display, a new two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, wireless charger, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, electric adjustment for the seats, electric sunroof and much more. Skoda will be offering a larger touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety features would include stability control, traction control, multiple airbags and much more.
The price of the fourth generation of Octavia is expected to be around Rs. 20 lakhs ex-showroom.
