Tata launched their all-new Safari in the market earlier this year. It is actually based on Tata Harrier which is a 5-seater SUV in Tata’s portfolio. The all-new SUV was named after the legendary Safari SUV which got discontinued form the market years ago. Tata Safari competes with cars like MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar in the segment. Tata Safari is now a popular car and can be easily spotted on our roads as well. There are several videos on the internet where people share ownership experience of the vehicle and here we have one such video from a new Tata Safari owner.
The video has been uploaded by DriveWithSidhant on their YouTube channel. In this video, the owner talks about the ownership experience with the new Safari. He bought the SUV in April this year. He went for the top-end Adventure Persona version which looks different from the regular Safari on road.

The owner talks about the overall design of the SUV and said that he had considered other SUVs like MG Hector Plus, Kia Seltos before finalising Safari. The reason why he did not go for Hector Plus was because the third row had very little space. Kia Seltos only offers 5 seat and that brought him to Tata Safari. The owner talks about design elements or cosmetic changes that differentiate Safari from its 5-seater version Harrier.
Owner is so impressed with the Safari that he went on and said that his Safari feels a lot more comfortable than Innova or Innova Crysta. He said, Tata offers decent amount of space in the third row and it feels a lot more comfortable than Innova. In fact he went on and said that seating comfort in Safari is better than Innova Crysta.
It must be noted that, it is the owner’s opinion and not a claim. Another person might have a different opinion about the same. Vlogger then moves in and starts talking about the features that Safari offers. Tata offers, electrically adjustable driver seat, leather wrapped door panels, beige colour leather seats, touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, JBL speaker system, panoramic sunroof, 18 inch alloy wheels, semi-digital instrument cluster and so on.
Owner mentions that he had used Terrain Response System in the vehicle and the SUV performs well in these modes. He also demonstrates the iRA connected car feature of Tata Safari. using this feature, the owner can actually lock, unlock and track the location of the vehicle from the mobile application.
Tata Safari is based on the same platform as Harrier. The owner can be heard saying in the video that it was also one of the reason why he bought Safari. Tata offers Safari with a diesel engine only. The Safari is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged diesel engine that generates 170 Ps and 350 Nm of peak torque. This is the same engine that is also doing duties in Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and MG Hector and Hector Plus. This engine is Safari is offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
