Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) unveiled the latest generation of the Camry luxury sedan in India. The Camry has changes not just to the exterior and the interior, but also to the engine. Here’s a photo gallery of the upcoming Toyota Camry. We expect the Camry to hit showrooms in the third quarter of 2012.
The new Camry retains the overall dimensions of the current model and follows a traditional evolution with regard to styling.
The Camry’s front seems to have borrowed subtle design cues from Toyota’s luxury brand, the Lexus. The conservatively styled chrome grille, side swept headlamps and low-poised road stance gives the Camry an elegant look.
Inside, the new Camry has the familiar look of the current version, though there are some quality improvements.
The side profile of the car remains mostly unaltered, but the roof-line of the new Camry seems to be a bit low when compared with the outgoing model.
The rear design features a sharply chiseled out tail-lamp cluster that further extends into the boot lid. The boot lip is lowered for easier loading and unloading of baggage.
The new Camry is powered by a 2.5-litre petrol motor that puts out 178 bhp of maximum power. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
