Jeep Compass-rivaling next-gen Hyundai Tucson to become a 7-seater: SPIED

Hyundai Tucson, currently the flagship model in the Indian market will be upgraded to an all-new avatar in the coming months. The 5-seater Hyundai Tucson currently takes on the likes of Jeep Compass and even the higher-end variants of the Mahindra XUV500 in the Indian market. The South Korean manufacturer, which is India’s second-largest carmaker has started testing the all-new version of the Tucson, which will be launched in the coming months.

The current-generation Hyundai Tucson is a premium 5-seater SUV in the international markets and the same update is expected to be launched in the Indian market too. The all-new Hyundai Tucson will offer a longer wheelbase than the current version and will offer 7-seats. However, the 5-seater version is also expected to continue in the coming times. The exact launch timeframe of the upcoming Hyundai Tucson is not known but it is expected to launch after 2020 in the Indian market.

The Indian market will the 7-seater version, which will take on the likes of Honda CR-V and will also compete with the likes of Jeep Compass and higher-end versions of the Mahindra XUV500. In fact, it will also take on the likes of upcoming Tata Buzzard, Mahindra Alturas G4 which is the 7-seater version of the Tata Harrier.

India is a popular and growing car market, Hyundai is expected to bring both 5-seater and 7-seater versions of the Tucson in the Indian market. The 5-seater version is expected to be launched by next year but the 7-seater version will be launched sometime in 2022. The upcoming Hyundai Tucson will get a lot of changes in terms of design. The vehicle will get a new face, which will be designed in accordance with Hyundai’s latest design language. It will get the sharp front-end, which will look much inspired by the all-new Santa Fe and the all-new Kona. Hyundai has already started testing the long wheelbase version of the Hyundai Tucson in the Chinese market. It is currently testing with faux body shell of ix35.

Currently, Hyundai does not sell any 7-seater vehicle in the Indian market. However, with the growing demand for such vehicles in the future, Hyundai is working to bring on the new models. The Tucson 7-seater will become the new flagship vehicle for the manufacturer when it comes to India. Soon, Hyundai will also launch a 7-seater version of the Hyundai Creta in the Indian market, which will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500 directly. Hyundai recently launched the all-new Venue in the Indian market and will soon bring new cars like the Hyundai Kona EV and all-new Grand i10 to the Indian market.
