Mahindra and Mahindra are on the largest utility vehicle manufacturer in the country. The manufacturer has a variety of SUV and MUV in their portfolio. Last year, Mahindra launched the all-new Thar SUV in the market. The SUV became an instant hit in the market because it was a huge improvement in terms of looks, design and build quality in comparison to the older generation Thar. Mahindra is now preparing to launch next-gen Scorpio SUV. The SUV has been testing several times on our roads. The next-gen Mahindra Scorpio is almost ready and is expected to launch in the second half of 2021. A new set of spy pictures of production ready next-gen Scorpio has surfaced online.
The spy pictures that have now surfaced online have been shared by ACI on their forum. The picture show a heavily camouflaged next-gen Mahindra Scorpio being tested on mountain roads. An all-new Mahindra Thar can also be seen in front of the Scorpio. By looking at the pictures, the Scorpio seen here looks like a top-end trim. Mahindra has completely changed the design of the Scorpio. It is now a lot more bigger than the current version.
The front grille has been redesigned and the headlamps are also new. It is likely to get a projector headlamp setup. The bumper will be heavily revised and will come with fog lamps and LED DRLs. The lower grille on the bumper with a honeycomb design in seen on the pictures too. The side profile of the Scorpio in the spy images shows how different it looks from current version. The Scorpio is now a lot more longer and wider than the current generation SUV.

Side profile also reveals the 10 spoke sporty looking alloy wheels which will be seen in the higher end version. The alloys were wrapped with MRF Wanderer All-Season tyres. Roof rails, ORVMs with turn indicators, side step can be seen in the pictures too. It also shows the roof mounted spoiler, split tail lamps and a huge boot door with a low loading lip. A set of reflectors are also seen on the rear bumper. The rear bumper itself has been redesigned and the spare wheel is mounted under the SUV.
The pictures even give a glance on how the steering of the upcoming Scorpio will look like. It is similar to the unit that we have seen in many other Mahindra SUVs in the past. On the inside, Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio will get totally revamped interiors. It will get an all-new dashboard with a large touchscreen infotainment screen with good speaker system and many other features. Scorpio is a 7-seater SUV and the revised dimension will definitely result in more space on the inside. Mahindra might also offer a fully digital instrument cluster and connect car features in the higher end variants. There is also a possibility that Mahindra might offer an electric sunroof with the SUV too.
Upcoming Scorpio will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol version will be powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged engine generating 150 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. The diesel version will be powered by a 2.2 litre engine that generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of torque. These are the same engines that are already seen in the all-new Thar. Both petrol and diesel engines are expected to get manual and automatic gearbox option. Mahindra might also bring back the 4×4 feature in the upcoming version.
