Nissan has officially unveiled the Magnite, which is a B-segment SUV. The car will take on the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and upcoming Kia Sonet. The Magnite is based on the CMF-A+ platform that underpins cars like Renault Triber.
The Magnite will be the first sub-4m SUV from the Japanese manufacturer. The all-new Nissan Magnite is a sub-4m car, which will allow the manufacturer to price this car very aggressively. The car will come with a lot of features including cruise control and 8.0-inch screen. Nissan also mentions that the Magnite is highly spacious. Nissan also says that there will be a number of first-in-segment features.

The all-new car looks very aggressive and is designed to attract the youngsters. The car gets massive DRLs in the front with a big chrome surrounded grille. The car also gets sleek LED headlamps that look very futuristic. The concept model also gets massive alloy wheels but the production version is likely to get sober-looking alloy wheels. The car also gets strong creases on the body. At the rear, it gets large LED split tail lamps. The concept model’s design looks inspired by the Nissan Kicks but enough changes are there to make it look much more youthful.
There is no news on the engine yet but Nissan is likely to offer two options. There will be a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated engine that generates a maximum power of 72 PS and 96 Nm with a 5-speed transmission. Nissan is also expected to offer a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 95 PS. It is likely to get a CVT transmission as an option with the manual transmission. Nissan will not offer any diesel engine option with the upcoming sub-4m SUV.
The launch date of the all-new Magnite is also not known yet. The car is in the development stage and it is likely to be launched in the Indian market next year.
Nissan says that the all-new car will be manufactured in India and is likely to be exported to many foreign countries like the Nissan Sunny and many other cars. Nissan says that the Indian market is very important. However, Nissan is not very satisfied with its performance in the Indian market. However, the manufacturer believes that one car change that in future. Nissan will announce as many as 12 new products in the next 18 months.
