Sub-4 meter compact SUV segment is one of the most popular and fastly growing segments in the country. Some of the popular cars in this segment are Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon. One of the latest entrant in the segment is Kia Sonet. Nissan is also preparing to enter this highly competitive segment with their Magnite SUV that they unveiled last week. Magnite SUV is designed specifically for markets like India where people love an SUVish stance on their vehicles. Nissan would be announcing the prices for Magnite in the coming months but, before that they have now launched an official TVC of the upcoming Nissan Magnite SUV.
The video has been shared by Nissan India on their official youtube channel. The video shows how the production version of Nissan Magnite looks like. It is quite similar to the concept model that was showcased to us months ago. The front gets a Datsun like wide grille with chrome garnish on either ends. The new Nissan logo can be seen in the centre of the grille. The headlamps are sleek looking LED units with turn indicators integrated in them. Lower part of the bumper gets ‘L’ shaped LED DRLs and the LED fog lamps is positioned on the lower part of the bumper next to the skid plate.

Coming to the side profile, there is Magnite badge right next to the ORVM and the distinct looking dual tone alloy wheels look great on the car. There are character lines running through through the side of the car to give it a bulky look with plastic cladding around the wheel arches. The roof has been blacked out and the rear gets a sporty looking spoiler too. The rear gets an LED split tail lamp and Magnite branding can also be seen on the boot.
On the inside, it has a fairly spacious cabin with fabric upholstery, uniquely shaped AC vents, touchscreen infotainment screen, colour TFT instrument cluster, wireless mobile charging and so on. It will be available with a 1.0 litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with a CVT gearbox. It would be the first vehicle in the segment to get a CVT gearbox. Other engine options of the Magnite will be revealed in the coming weeks.
