Nissan Micra receives minor updates

Nissan has launched a facelifted version of the Micra. This is not the all-new generation that is on sale in the international market but only a facelift of the current version. The price of new Micra starts at Rs. 5.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new version gets many new features keeping it fresh in the market.

Nissan has updated the new Micra with automatic headlamps with follow-me function. The car also gets rain sensing wipers and sports orange accents inside the cabin. From the outside, the Micra looks exactly the same. Notably, the current Micra was launched in 2013 and since then, it has not received any updates. However, Nissan now offers seven exterior colours including Brick Red, Turquoise Blue, Blade Silver, Onyx Black, Nightshade, Storm White and Sunshine Orange.

The engine options also remain the same. Micra is still powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out a maximum power of 73 Bhp and peak torque of 104 Nm. The 1.5-litre diesel engine churns out a maximum of 63 Bhp and 160 Nm. The petrol engine variant only gets CVT automatic gearbox while the diesel engine gets the 5-speed manual transmission. The CVT Automatic returns a maximum mileage of 19.34 km/l while the diesel variant returns 23.08 km/l.

Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd., said, “The New Micra brings together Japanese technology and European styling in a package that makes it one of the best premium urban hatchbacks at an attractive price point. The new features enhance the visual appeal and convenience of the Micra and provide an excellent driving experience. The New Micra will add a dash of liveliness to the driving experience for our customers.”
