Nissan Sunny petrol and diesel variants, and prices across five major Indian cities!

Nissan India launched the Sunny sedan which shares its V platform with the Micra hatchback. The company launched the Sunny petrol in September 2011 at a price range of Rs. 5.78 lakh – Rs.7.68 lakh followed by a diesel version in December 2011 with a price range of Rs. 7.98 lakh – 8.78 lakh. Here we take a closer look at what each variant offers us and what are the prices across cities.

The Sunny is one of the longest cars in its segment, with a significantly longer wheelbase as well. On the interiors, the Sunny is by far the most spacious car in its segment with a boot space of 490 litres which is also good. Space is going to be the primary selling point for Nissan’s latest mid-size sedan in the Indian market.

The Sunny petrol is powered by a 1.5 litre motor that produces 98 bhp of maximum power and 134 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The ARAI-certified fuel economy of the Sunny is 16.95 kmpl. The diesel version is powered by 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder K9K engine that churns out 85 bhp of power and a maximum torque of 200 Nm, mated to five speed manual gear box. The ARAI-certified fuel economy of the Sunny diesel is 21.6 kmpl.
The Sunny petrol sedan is offered in three variants XE, XL and XV while the Sunny diesel is offered only in two variants, XL and XV. Let’s look at what each variant offers.

Sunny XE petrol (Rs.5.78 lakh)

The XE variant does not get electrically adjustable outside mirrors, rear defroster and full wheel covers. The following are the features available in the XE variant.

Sunny XL petrol (Rs.6.88 lakh) and Sunny XL diesel (Rs. 7.98 lakh)

The mid variant, XL gets all the features of the XE and in addition gets passenger airbag, integrated audio system with four speakers and aux-in port, automatic AC, steering mounted audio controls and rear comfort fan (AC vents).

Sunny XV petrol (Rs.7.68 lakh) and Sunny XV diesel (Rs. 8.78 lakh)

The top-end variant, XV has all the features of XL and in addition gets alloy wheels, fog lamps, electric folding mirrors and intelligent key with push button ignition.
