A few days ago, Nissan India launched a new variant of the Terrano SUV, called the Sport. The Terrano Sport is basically a mildly accessorized version of the compact SUV. The Terrano Sport gets a contrast roof, GT stripes and graphics to differentiate itself from the regular variants. Here is a new TV commercial that shows this vehicle in action.
The Terrano is the only SUV that Nissan sells in India. It’s based on the Renault Duster but is badge-engineered, which means that it looks different from the Duster, especially from the front and rear. Interiors too, are different while features are more or less similar to what’s offered on the Duster, except that the Terrano is slightly under equipped despite being pricier.
The Terrano is offered with two engine options – a 1.5 litre petrol motor with 104 Bhp-140 Nm, and a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel motor in two states of tune – 84 Bhp-200 Nm and 108 Bhp-248 Nm. While the petrol engine gets a 5 speed manual gearbox as standard fare, the diesel gets a 5 speed manual for the lower state of tune, and a 6 speed manual and an AMT option for the higher state of tune.
While the Duster also offers an all wheel drive system as an option, the Terrano is sold as a front wheel driven SUV. The key strength of the Terrano is its ride quality, which is simply sublime. From time to time, there are hefty discounts offered on this SUV. So, do get in touch with your local Nissan dealer in case you’re planning to drive this SUV home.
As for features, the Terrano now gets steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, a 7 inch touch screen infotainment unit, twin airbags, ABS+EBD, ESP, hill-hold assist, twin tone interiors and a soft-touch dashboard. The SUV is a five seater, and comes with a power steering and air conditioning as standard. Prices of the Terrano start from Rs. 9.99 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
