The Magnite compact-SUV has been very successful for Nissan. Now, the manufacturer is preparing to launch a new XV Executive variant of the Magnite to attract more people. The new variant will sit between XL and XV. The XV Executive variant will cost Rs. 52,000 more than the XL variant. It will offer more features.
The dual-tone wheel covers are replaced by 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. There is silver cladding on the sides. The rear occupants now get a rear armrest. So, the rear occupants can travel more comfortably. The new XV Executive also adds more practicality as it comes with 60:40 split seats, seatback pockets and armrests in the cupholders.
Nissan has also added ISOFIX mounts for the child seats. There is also a rear parking camera to help the driver in reversing the Magnite. So, the safety equipment has also been increased slightly. Nissan has also added a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs on an Android interface. It comes with a split-screen, pre-installed Google Maps, wired/wireless mirror link and video playback. The driver also gets a height-adjustable seat.

The XV Executive variant also comes with features that the XL offers. So, it gets halogen headlamps, coloured outside rearview mirrors, side turn indicators on outside rearview mirrors, audio controls on steering wheel, all power windows, automatic climate control and electric adjustment and foldable for rearview mirrors. For safety, there are dual airbags, an Anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake Distribution, antiroll bar, rear parking sensors, Warning Hazard on Emergency Braking and keyless entry.
Engine and gearbox
Magnite is offered with two engine options. Both are three-cylinder, naturally aspirated, 1.0-litre units. The naturally aspirated engine produces 72 PS of max power and 96 Nm of peak torque. It is mated to only a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo petrol engine produces 100 PS of max power and 160 Nm. It is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission. As of now, it is not known which engine will the XV Executive variant come with.
Prices and variants
Magnite is one of the most affordable compact SUVs in the Indian market. The price of Magnite starts at Rs. 5.71 lakhs ex-showroom and goes up to Rs. 10.15 lakhs ex-showroom. The Magnite is offered in five variants. There is XE, XL, XV, XV Premium, and XV Premium (O). The XV Executive variant will be the sixth variant that will go on sale.
Rivals
The Magnite compete against Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Hyundai Venue, Ford Ecosport and Kia Sonet. It also competes against the upcoming Citroen C3 and the Baleno-based compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki.
Tech pack
Nissan also offers a Tech pack that is available with XV and XV Premium. It is not yet known if the Tech pack will be offered with the XV Executive variant. The Tech pack includes puddle lamps, wireless charger, LED scuff plates, air purifier, ambient mood lighting and high-end speakers.
