The Japanese multinational automaker, Toyota, is known for producing some of the most reliable cars in history. However, from now on, it will also be recognized as a generous brand as well. Recently, the company gifted an all-new 2023 Toyota Highlander SUV to a man in the United States of America after learning that the man had lost his million-mile-driven Highlander during Hurricane Ian. Toyota showed their appreciation for the loyalty of this man by giving him the new SUV free of cost.
Toyota USA gifted the man, named Mark Miller, a brand-new 2023 Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition in a surprise ceremony at his local dealership back in January. According to reports, Mark bought his now-lost 2006 Toyota Highlander brand new and drove it every day. He owns a road paving company and mentioned that at times he used his hybrid SUV as his mobile office. He stated that he loved his SUV very much, but sadly it was taken away by Hurricane Ian, which hit Florida back in 2020 and created damages worth $113 billion.
Previously, the company gave Mark a cooler when he mentioned to his dealership that his car had reached 500,000 miles. Following this, when he mentioned that his car had reached a million miles, he was called again into the dealership. Not thinking much about it, he went to the dealership and was surprised that the company had planned to give him a new 2023 Highlander free of cost. He then obliged and took the car.

Toyota mentioned that the previously owned Highlander by Mark was serviced by Germain Toyota in Naples for its entire lifespan. However, Toyota’s release makes no mention of any maintenance performed throughout the vehicle’s million-mile journey. As a result, there is no surety if the original engine, transmission, or hybrid battery pack were intact before it was lost. Yet, according to Miller, it was “extremely reliable” and clearly loved, or at the very least acknowledged.
The 2023 Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition, which Mark received as a gift, is one of the latest offerings from Toyota. This hybrid SUV has a sleek and stylish design, combined with powerful performance and cutting-edge features. The Bronze Edition is a new trim level that comes with exclusive features and upgrades to enhance the driving experience.
This SUV is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, combined with two electric motors, providing a combined output of 243 horsepower. It also comes with an electric continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and all-wheel drive, which delivers exceptional fuel efficiency while providing impressive power and acceleration.
The exterior of the 2023 Highlander Hybrid Bronze Edition features a unique bronze finish, 18-inch bronze wheels, and a darkened front grille that gives it an eye-catching appearance. The interior is also impressive, with bronze accents and stitching on the seats, door panels, and dashboard. Other features of the Bronze Edition include a 12.3-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a premium JBL audio system, heated and ventilated front seats, a power sunroof, and a host of advanced safety features, including Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+.
