Range Rover Park Assist feature

India is one of the fastest-growing markets for expensive cars. One of the main reasons why many people often buy expensive cars is because they offer more features, look premium, and are also a lot more comfortable. Moreover, these are often seen as status symbols too. Earlier, people used to choose such expensive cars for a comfortable ride and a premium cabin. However, over the years, things have changed, and people now look for features too. Here we have a video that shows the Park Assist feature in a 4-crore Range Rover SUV actually working.

The video has been shared by Vipul Punetha on his Instagram profile. In this video, he is seen sitting in the driver’s seat of a current-generation Range Rover SUV. Parking an SUV as huge as the Range Rover might often prove to be a challenging task, especially in India. In order to make things easier for the driver, the SUV now comes with interesting features. It is called Park Assist. This is a feature that parks the vehicle automatically without any inputs from the driver.

This is a feature that has been offered with many cars, including the Ford Endeavour. This feature actually uses the sensors and cameras placed around the vehicle to read the surroundings and park it accordingly. In Land Rover Range Rover vehicles, this system will help you park into parallel or perpendicular spots. Once the driver has switched on this feature, the car starts looking for space around the vehicle. If the driver has engaged the left-side indicator, it would look for space on the left, and if the right turn indicators are engaged, it would look for space on that side.

The car’s sensors would detect a potential spot when you drive past it. It would ask you to stop and engage the auto park or park assist feature. Once this has been engaged, the car would engage the reverse gear and start crawling back to the parking spot while making necessary steering adjustments. The driver doesn’t need to make any changes to correct the steering. In this video, the car is getting parked parallelly, and the view around the car is clearly visible in the 360-degree camera. While this system works perfectly, it is always a good idea to look for any obstacles or pedestrians who might come behind the vehicle.

If the driver applies the brake or makes steering adjustments, this system usually gets disengaged. Once the car is parked, the vehicle would read the surroundings once again and would automatically move forward to tighten the gap between the vehicles. This is actually a smart feature that not only lets the driver park the vehicle but also drive vehicles out from such tight spots. The feature offered in Range Rover is advanced; however, many SUVs and cars like MG Gloster, Volkswagen Passat used to offer this feature but not this advanced. The current-generation Range Rover is extremely popular, and many celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, Nimrat Kaur, Pooja Hegde, Sonam Kapoor own this SUV. The price for a brand new Range Rover starts at Rs 2.39 crore, ex-showroom, and goes all the way up to Rs 4.17 crore, ex-showroom.
