Police registers case against father for making 6-year old son attend mud race training [Video]

In the past we have seen several cases where cops have registered case for underage driving. In one such incident Kerala police has registered a case against Shanavas Abdullah of Kattoor in Thrissur for making his son attend a mud race training with seniors. The video of Shanavas’ son attending the training with other bikers has surfaced online and has already gone viral. The case has been registered by Palakkad Town South police and kid’s father has come forward explaining that his child was riding a toy bike.

The video report has been shared by Manorama News on their YouTube channel. In the video, it is clearly visible that the six-year-old kid is riding a small motorcycle on the track with other bikers as part of the training program. The cops said that the case was registered against Shanavas Abdullah for letting his son ride a motorcycle in a dangerous manner with other bikers. The reason the cops put forward for registering the case is that chances of kid getting injured in the training sessions were very high as they bikers were riding fast on the track. The bikes used by other bikers were also fast and could easily hit the kid while riding on the track as they were riding fast when compared to the kid’s bike.

The training program in which the kid was participating was actually conducted ahead of a racing competition which is supposed to be held on April 16 and 17 in Kadangode. Cops have said that a case would also be registered against the organisers of the race Indira Priyadarshini Motor Sports in Kadangode for organising this training program and letting the kid ride on track. Police has also said that the training program was organised without prior permissions. They even mentioned the organisers do not have permission for the race or competition which was supposed to be held next week. It is not clear as of now whether the organisers would conduct the race next week or not.

As seen in the video, the child is seen riding the motorcycle with a proper riding helmet and has a proper riding gear for protection on the track. The father of the child has told police officers that the all safety precautions were taken before he went riding on the track with the seniors. In the video, the kid is seen riding the motorcycle smoothly with other bikers. Although kid was wearing proper riding gear the chances of him getting injured were pretty luckily nothing like that happened. If the father of the child wanted to offer training to his kid he should have let his kid ride alone on the track or with riders of his age if there were any.

Bike racing culture in India is slowly growing. We have manufacturers like TVS offering a chance to people who want to get a hands on training at the track from professionals. There are several videos of young bikers racing illegally on public roads. This is way more dangerous as they put their lives and lives of other road users at risk by doing such races.
